Duodecimal – MA Fine Art Show, Open College of the Arts
At the The Civic, Barnsley: 15th- 29th June 2019
Duodecimalis an exhibition of work by MA Fine Art students from The Open College of the Arts. The twelve artists represent the truly global nature of this distance learning course, coming from the UK, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Sweden, Austria, Italy and the USA. The exhibition will showcase painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, digital media and installation.
This exhibition is the culmination of the artists’ research and development of their art practice over the course. Despite working closely together for the last three years, the artists will meet for the first time at their exhibition. Their approaches are diverse and thought provoking, ranging from socially engaged projects to performance-based work. This is a distance learning course where collaboration, support and dialogue between the cohort is encouraged. The group aim to continue collaborating and developing this global network beyond the course with exciting future projects.
